Michael Nalick
Policy Director

Michael Nalick is a native Texan, and grew up in Northwest Harris County, where he attended Cypress Creek High School. After high school he completed his BA in Government from the University of Texas at Austin. During college Michael was engaged in international affairs, and spent a semester in Washington D.C. at American University. During this semester he interned for the U.S. Senate Subcommittee for International Security and National Services, and specialized in nuclear non-proliferation.

After college Michael moved to New York City and worked for Marina Maher Communications, which is a small consumer public relations agency. He worked for a variety of clients including Coppertone, Dr. Scholls, and Swarovski Crystals. Even though Michael enjoyed the exciting communications world he wanted to pursue a career in the public sector.

Michael left New York City to attend the University of Southern California (USC) in Los Angeles, where he received his Masters in Public Policy. He studied a variety of policy issues including energy, environmental valuation, transportation, and economic development. Michael also specialized in Social Entrepreneurship and enrolled in classes at the Marshall School of Business. Furthermore, during his studies he worked for a non-profit philanthropic research institute as a development assistant, and during the summer break worked as a graduate intern in public affairs for Pierpont Communications in Houston, Texas.

Upon graduating from USC Michael decided he wanted to return home to Texas. He was employed as the Assistant Director for the Austin area Community Relations Council/Anti-Defamation League before accepting his current position. Michael was excited about the opportunity to create policies that would have a beneficial impact on Travis County Precinct 3. And as an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys hiking, climbing, camping, and swimming Michael is dedicated to preserving the scenic characteristics of Precinct 3.
